Im very small; currently 5'4 91 lbs and my doc. thinks it will help me to sleep, and improve my appetite which is stunted by stress and anxiety. Now, I dont mind 10 or so lbs. but 60? Thats just scary, do any informed people (doctors, nurses, etc) have any advice? Is it the drug itself that makes you gain weight or is it the fact that it suposedly stimulates your appetite? Also, what does age/sex/metabolism have to do with all of this?
Thanks to all who take the time to answer this!Anyone with any experience with Zyprexa? Good, bad, did you like it? I'd like to hear others opinions.?
you will gain weight but with proper diet you might not gain that much but you will look better with a bit weight gain and it will cartainlty help you sleep go for it start at 5-7.5 mil a day tellme how it goes
caused psychotic side effects on my ex-boyfriend..confusion..irrit... stuff! I would try Ambien for sleeplessness and exercise for stress reduction and appetite
I have taken it on an off for about a year. I did gain a little weight, but I felt like it was just because my appetite was a little better. At first, it did help my sleep habits, but there are more powerful sedatives out there if that is your trouble.
My GP (internist) prescribed Zyprexa to me, but when I later saw a psychiatrist (just recently) he didn't think that was the right drug for me. If you are seeing a GP, you might think about seeing a specialist for your troubles just to get a second opinion if nothing else. Good luck!
