I want to try some - Im not sure which brand to go for and what to expect from them. Do they simply make you a little sleepy or do they actually put you to sleep? Any experiences would be helpful.Anyone who's used non-prescription sleeping pills?
I generally use just the generic otc sleeping pills, but I only take half of one of them and it puts me to sleep pretty well. Tylenol PM works well too if you're having trouble sleeping b/c of a headache or something. Generally i've found that they do make me sleepy, and I've learned that if I don't go to bed right away when they do I'll be up for a while (not sure why this is, but when you start feeling tired go with it lol). I usually get a full night's sleep with them, and the reason I only take half of a pill is because otherwise I wake up in the morning feeling like i've been runover by a truck, but with half of a pill I feel great.
I use tylenol simply sleep. They make you go to sleep faster but if you don't sleep the recommended 8 hours you wake up really tired and sluggish. They are only for occasional use if you need something more often go see a doctor.
I just get the store brand sleep aid pills. CVS, Walmart, etc. Takes about 45 minutes to an hour to kick in, makes you feel very relaxed & sleepy.
Benedryl works good.
the generic brand of tylenol pm at dollar general..
It doesn't knock you out so to speak.. just helps you to relax and feel sleepy , does help keep you asleep rather than toss and turn all night..
i tried tylenol pm. they were ok. later tried, excedrin pm. wowza! what a difference. i was still kinda woozy the next day. so, if i take them, i use one. two is just way too much for me. dont know why.
but yes, the excedrin put me out.
