What can I do for my earache just to ease the pain before I go to the doctor ?ANY natural remedies for a bad earache?
People used to slightly heat some oil, put the oil in their ear and close the ear with a cotton ball. I believe the theory was that the warm oil would make them more comfortable. The cotton ball would prevent cool air from adding to the discomfort. Of course, you'd want to test the heat of the oil on your inner wrist. Burning the inside of your ear with hot oil would not be a good experience! I've seen both baby oil (mineral oil) and olive oil used this way.
Of course, the best thing to do is go see the doctor. An ear infection is a serious thing and may need to be treated with antibiotics.
I know that a lot of my friends use hot wax (you can buy it at pharmacies or the pharmacy sections of stores). I've never tried it but they all love it and say it helps. Maybe try some tylenol cold and sinus that contains ibuprofen in it. Good luck and I hope you feel better!
Either get some herbal cayenne(chili powder) and drink a small amount in a cup of warm water or take some Ginko Biloba several times before the doctor's appointment. Or take them both at the same time. Cayenne thins the blood and allows more blood to go where it is needed and Ginko is good for tinnatus(ringing in the ear).
sweet oil {you get this at drug store"""" and warm towels on ear and neck """"
My home remedy book says to hold a blow dryer to your ear.
